Name : GREY JUNGLE FOWL
Scientific name : Gallus sonneratii

  Description : They are endemic to India, and even today it is found mainly in peninsular India. They are one of the wild ancestors of domestic fowl. The Grey Jungle fowl’s preferred habitats are thickets on the forest floors and open scrub. Grey Jungle fowl are mostly seen on the ground but they are able to fly into trees to escape predators or just to roost. They feed up on bamboo seeds, grains, termites, insects and berries.
