Name : GREY PELICAN
Scientific name : Pelecanus philippensis

Description : Also known as spot-billed pelican, is a big water bird of large inland and coastal waters, especially large lakes, breeds in southern Asia. They have an enormous bill, to the lower edge of which is attached a pouch in which captured fishes are temporarily stored. The birds nest in colonies and the nest is a thick platform of twigs placed on a low tree, usually built alongside painted storks. 3-4 chalky white eggs laid in a clutch. The eggs become dirty with age, hatch in about 30–33 days. Pelicans incubate their eggs by practically standing on them using the skin of their feet to keep the eggs warm. The young stay in or near the nest for three to five months.
