Scientific name : Cuon alpinus

 Description :Dhole or Indian wild dog is a canid native to Central, South, East and Southeast Asia. They are social animal living in large clans. They are diurnal hunters, hunting  in the early hours the morning in group and they even bring down large animals like deer’s, sambar’s and even elephant calf. Once it was found abundantly in Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats but now they are into urge of extinction. They are listed as Endangered by IUCN. They eat Chital, Sambar, Mouse deer, Muntjac, Langurs, Wild boar, Gaur, Water buffaloes, Cattle, Nilgai, Goats, Indian hares etc., Dholes eat fruit and vegetable matter more readily than other canids.
